Charleston Fly Fishing and Sight Fishing
Excellent fly and sight fishing opportunities are available year round near Charleston and Isle of Palms but are typically dependent upon the tides and weather. Sight fishing for Redfish is always very exciting. Whether casting to fish at low tide on shallow mud flats or in the flooded marsh at the top of "big moon tides", you better hold on when you hook one. Just call and we can plan your trip accordingly. Regarding the fly, there are certain times of the year, windows that I have logged over the years when lots of reds can be caught on the fly in one day. Early spring, big moon tides in the summer, late August-early September. and October-. Just call or e-mail me and we'll talk about it. I would love to say that every day in the lowcountry was great for fly fishing and sight fishing success, but in my opinion that would not be true. We just need to schedule accordingly.
FAMILY FISHING (Best March-November)

Family trips are lots of fun and are easily accommodated aboard my 23' Kenner center console. This boat has plenty of space to walk around and gives everyone plenty of elbow- room. Dozens of kids have caught their first fish ever from this boat and that makes me feel good. Expect to see plenty of bottlenose dolphins, shorebirds and fish. Parties of up to 6 are welcome with larger groups requiring an additional boat. Surf fishing from one of our remote barrier islands is also a good activity for the family with small children. See surf fishing below.

NEARSHORE REEF/WRECK
Fish aboard my 23' Kenner center console. Near-shore fishing is another good thing to get accomplished while you are in the lowcountry. The waters just offshore are scattered with 19th century shipwrecks, artificial reefs, and natural geologic features that make for some pretty good fishing. Summertime brings big catches of red drum, trout, king mackerel, cobia, and sharks. In the fall the action changes its "mood" a little but when the water gets colder (Nov-Feb) big sheepshead (2-15 lbs) move out to the wrecks in about 45 feet of water and we target them with light tackle and fiddler crabs and clams as bait. Imagine what a 10 lb bream would fight like. Just call or email me and we'll talk. These trips are very weather dependent.
4-6 hours
cost $425-550 1-4 anglers
SURF FISHING
Do you want to catch a 35 to 50lb bull redfish with your feet on the sand? I will take you and up to 5 of your friends, coworkers, or family members out to one of my best spots where we will park the boat, set up some sand spikes, cast the rods out and wait on the big boys to bite. Best times are either side of April 25 in the spring and September-November. Call or e-mail and we'll set something up.
